Bio

Emeka C. Anen is the Managing Partner of just a small project™, jasp, a mission driven venture studio and consultancy. Through proprietary programming and technology, jasp serves to incubate, fund, and advise emerging entrepreneurs.

Prior to jasp, Emeka served as the founder and CEO of THRONE. THRONE is s venture-funded, technology-based, cultural lab and empowerment studio focused on building technology-based tools and integrated services or experiences in order to enhance the consumer experience for the often overlooked, yet massive, streetwear and creative community. THRONE’s first product, a self-titled mobile app, quickly grew a user base of over 250,000 members and successfully raised venture funding from notable investors and angels including: Comcast Ventures, UP2398, Pierre Omidyar, and Troy Carter’s Atom Factory among others. THRONE continues to grow, and has been widely featured, garnering both significant media and industry accolade.

Before pursuing a career in technology and entrepreneurship, Emeka sharpened his teeth and strategic toolkit in the world of management consulting. As a management consultant, Emeka leveraged his international background to advise international health care clients within Huron Consulting Group’s healthcare practice. Emeka joined Huron after completing the Gilman Fellowship, through which he spent a year living abroad in Shanghai, China researching and studying comparative Health Policy practices within Southeast Asia. This was his second significant stint in Asia, having lived and researched in Singapore and Thailand in the past.

Emeka is a 2010 graduate of UNC Chapel Hill where he studied Business Administration at the Kenan-Flagler Business School and Health Policy and Management at the Gillings School of Global Public Health. White at UNC, Emeka was a recipient of the university’s flagship Johnson Scholarship, and an active member of the Honors College. He remains actively engaged with his university community, and most recently serving a term as a Director At-Large on the Governing Board of the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health from 2014 - 2017.
